My grandmother, Norma Haller Cable, was an excellent cook, baker, and popcorn maker. She was a generous hostess and loved having friends and family visit. Some of my fondest memories were sleep overs at grandma’s and making delicious desserts in her kitchen. Also, every year Grandma would have Christmas cookie baking days, where every kind of cookie imaginable was made.
The Cable family printed our first cookbook in 2002, full of our favorite recipes. Shortly after it was printed, Grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. In 2010, a second cookbook was printed. The cookbook is sold to help raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and the proceeds are donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
This blog is to celebrate Grandma’s love of food and the recipes that she, as well as her family, enjoy preparing. Happy cooking and bon appetit!
